January 13, 2026Fly in between Christmas and New Year. Fine day to fly so many planes were at the transient. On Unicom and the airport people were good to help us find one. Make certain to pay landing fee once finished parking. Really tasty buffalo burger and fine staff.

December 8, 2025Enjoyable visit today. Strong crosswind and downdraft on final made things challenging but manageable. The airport manager came up on CTAF to offer some useful guidance. The often-mentioned effect of the upslope on 22 was interesting to observe in person. Runway was in fine condition. Interesting tidbit I learned today. Your landing fee is good all day. They also offer a yearly pass for $224.

October 17, 2025Catalina Island an amazing Airport! It's paved with a few bumps but manageable. Like other pilot reports head to the tower they only take credit cards no cash. The van you take down to Avalon is fine, but the road is really! Rough! Runny 22 for landing and 04 for departure. Tie downs are on dirt. Cost as of 4-21-2024 over night landing fees and the ride up and back was I would agree CFI check out Recommend un nerving NO Rockies pilots for sure, bucket list worthy :) experienced pilots enjoy
