Threshold Aviation KAUN Pilot Reviews

January 8, 2023Good little airport! There’s several flight schools, so anticipate a busier pattern with students. A lot of people practice the RNAV 7 approach, preferred runway is 25, always check both ends before taxiing onto the runway. Winds are often different between the final approach & the threshold on 25. On windy days, the terrain makes it a rough ride. Sky Trails Aviation mechanic shop/flight school is a fine place to check out if you’ve never seen it. The hangar’s a neat hangout spot. The folks there are super friendly!

July 10, 2022This is a quite active airport with many training movements. If you require the bathroom after hours the code is the AWOS minus the initial digit. Wing’s the on field eatery is now available 7 days weekly for breakfast and lunch. Good atmosphere! Good meals! The Ridge golf course is within walking distance, its restaurant is open for lunch 7 days weekly and offers dinner 2 evenings per week. The 2 breweries near the field frequently have food trucks. There are no rental cars or loaner cars at the airport, the city of Auburn runs a bus “on demand” for $1.50 a trip. trip. https://www.auburn.ca.gov/192/Transit-Services This is my home base.
