June 18, 2025Very fine airport. ATC very simple and helpful to vector you in to land. Be mindful of the tall towers southeast of the field. Many towers and obstacles to be aware of but not dangerous. Macdill airspace is in close proximity on the southwest side so be on spot if VFR. Review right traffic patterns for 04/36. IFR clearance simply obtained from Tampa via phone with number on ForeFlight airport info page. A wonderful airport for access to Tampa Bay.

Be alert: ga traffic departing tpf should be advised military class d airspace 0.6 miles off the departure end of runway 22. ga traffic must exercise extreme caution for opposing military traffic in the pattern for runway 5-23 at macdill afb
