07/19/23. Dropped in for fuel and lunch in town. Used the Crew Car from Airborne Aviation Services for the short drive. Everyone was polite and affable and the FBO well air conditioned. But… Purchasing fuel was a different situation. I chose the “Fill-Up” option on the machine. When I finished my purchase, the machine was out of paper, so no receipt. When I returned home I checked my credit card and discovered a pending charge of $3500 from the FBO. If you buy fuel, DON’T use the fill-up option.

The “fill up” key at our location was customized to permit the customer to buy over 500 gallons of fuel. It will place a $3500.00 hold on the credit card until the transaction is fully processed. Usually this requires 1 to 2 business days to be settled. This selection was for our Helibase large transport helicopters and fuel trucks that require service. We have since disabled the “fill up” key so it is no more accessible or a choice.
