August 3, 2025Quite fine facility with much unique history. The runway is very narrow and short so please be cautious. If you have never flown into small fields before be on your A game and pick a calm weather day to fly in.

May 27, 2025I don't know if my experience is typical, but if it is, avoid leaving W00 IFR at all costs. The route I got was VAALI TUNDR T295 RIPKN T356 MRB HGR JST TALLS YNG CXR LLEEO KDTW KPTK. Put that in your favorite aviation app and tell me how this makes any sense. It used enough of our reserve fuel that we made an unplanned fuel stop later in the trip.

May 25, 2025Fine small airport. Plenty of tie downs. Around a 40 minute Uber from downtown DC, but outside the FRZ. If arriving from the west, they will direct you use gates to the west and around the frz. No issues getting in and out with a mooney, but it is short and narrow. Be very cautious if arriving at night or with crosswinds, approach is tight with trees on the sides and below glideslope. Fuel is self service but pay inside when they are open.
