This location is paradise on Earth. I stumbled upon Brokenstraw by chance while moving a Cub from Massachusetts to Indiana. It was along my path and I was seeking a spot where I could rest under the wing without any issues. Bill and Sue are fantastic and welcoming. I received a tour of the airfield and was provided a camping cabin, a shower, and a king sized bed in the office. I had been intending on cleaning up in the creek but there was no requirement. They also loaned me their car to obtain food in town.

Landed here on a long xc looking to spend the night. I phoned ahead and Bill let us set up our tent under our wing and spend the night for two evenings. They offered us a cabin right next to the airport and a room in their office. They were wonderful. Sue gave us a ride to town to pick up groceries. Overall a good experience and I hope I get to return.

Based on other comments we stopped in here to camp with our 177RG. As commented by others, the runway is well maintained and Bill and Sue (along with their very friendly dog, Sacha) are amazing. They gave us bottled water, offered us the hillside cabin or the king bed in the FBO bedroom. Both looked wonderful but we opted to camp under our wing in the grass just outside the FBO building. An outstanding visit with good people, pleasant conversation, plus a tour of their many gliders.
