Fine airport with a fine but small pilot lounge. Met a fine couple walking at the airport that gave us a ride to town. Was very thankful for the 1200' grass runway as the winds were 90 deg to the main runway 18 gusting to 25. Affordable fuel.

Shout-out to the two gentlemen at H34 on Sunday 9/12/2021. Fine grass runway here that my 180 loves, & cheap fuel. Grass is short - 1200 feet - and not quite aligned with the road so beware the optical illusion. As I fueled, a black pickup truck strolled over to meet me. The two aforementioned gentlemen got out, engaged me in delightful conversation and assisted me (!!) fuel my bird. Now you just can't beat that for service. They said something about relishing my short field landing. (Wait ... I had an AUDIENCE for my good landing? That NEVER happens.) A solid airport, with heads-up folks, in the middle of nowhere in northeastern Arkansas. I say this not to imply I was surprised ... just delighted. This is why I stop in out-of-the-way places when traveling cross-country. The big airports are sanitary and have all paved runways. The people are usually nice enough, but not like this. Again, props to the two fine gentlemen who came over to greet me - made my day. One bit of trivia, they mentioned that the tower building is in fact an old control tower from another close-by airport that got a new one a few years back. The building is cool, and has a restroom and pilot's room for transients - all good!
