I flew from South Carolina (KGGE) to Mansfield (1B9) to assist my son construct a koi pond. I wished to fill up in KIJD with the fuel cost being over $1.50 less expensive. Because the field was fogged in and the cloud ceiling being 10,000' I fueled up. 60 gallons @ an added $90.00. Ouch!

Good small airport. Welcoming personnel from the airport staff to the restaurant personnel. Low cost self serve fuel ($6.55). Visited Hangar 12 with 6 pilots between two planes for a fine late breakfast/early lunch. Fairly priced menu. Indoor & outdoor seating.

Flew from KFRG to 1B9 on May 1 2022 . it was VFR but I was on an IFR flight plan . Good service from PVD approach , I asked for the GPS 32 approach and it was granted without issue . The diner hangar12 is a must for the hungry pilot , fine fly in diner . It was active that particular morning but it was a very fine sunny morning , ample parking available for visiting planes . Don’t forget to take a photo of the gate code before you leave the ramp , you will need the combo to get back to your plane . Runway is in good condition and remember to turn to the 290 heading after departure for noise abatement… go grab breakfast at hangar12 … in my opinion one of the best fly-in diners in the north east …
